Abuja Nigeria, April 8, 2025 – Reigning champions Zamalek are on track to defend their title after beating Descartes of Ivory Coast 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-15)
Zamalek demonstrated why they are the top in Africa with superb control of the ball, skillful touches and driving spikes when required. They got off to a slow start with a few mis-hits, but then started scoring to raced ahead and take the set 25-8.
Zamalek started the 2nd set with a bang leading 15-8. OMD failed to respond as the defending champions claimed the set 25-15.
OMD were struggling in the third set. They had little effect to the score board even after scoring an ace. Zamalek gained from a couple of OMD faults with an ace to win 25-15.
