“We respect vipers and they are champions but we won’t take them for granted. We have a few injuries but we are good to go”

The purple sharks penned a one year deal with betting company 1xBet as they unveiled their 2022/23 season kit on Friday.

They now join a series of teams partnering with 1xBet like La Liga stronghold FC Barcelona and soon to be relegated side Tooro United. 1xBet are also sponsors of the Italian Serie A.

“‘As a club, we are delighted to unveil a new member of the wakiso Giants family, sponsors, 1xBet which is an international brand.” Said Wakiso Giants CEO Sula Kamoga.

The new home and away shirts will bear 1xbet at the front as an addition to the USD 65,000 (sixty five thousand dollars) in the agreement.

“We have been working with African football leagues and clubs for a long time.” Anthony Dhabangi from 1xBet echoed as he presented a dummy cheque.

“This team has come a long way and is now well known to fans in the country and beyond.” He added.

The endorsement comes ahead of their game against newly crowned champions in the Startimes Uganda Premier league Vipers, at the Kabaka kyabagu stadium in Wakiso.

The wakiso outfit have succumbed twice to the venoms this season with 5-0 at the St Mary’s stadium in their Round one of the SUPL and 3-1 last month in the Uganda cup.

They will have to fight hard to pick a positive result from the clash as they don their new home kit.

” We are ready to do everything for positive results in tomorrow’s game” Captain Wakiso Giants Hassan Ssenyonjo assured the fans.

Talking about their new sponsors, wakiso giants’ midfielder Joshua Lubwama aka the tallest muganda assured the betting company to brace up for contract extensions as the players are ready to work their legs off.

The purple sharks are 8th on the log with 36 points tieing with army side UPDF who will also lock horns with Express on Saturday at 4pm.

“We respect vipers and they are champions but we won’t take them for granted. We have a few injuries but we are good to go” the midfielder emphasized.
