Bujumbura, Burundi | Uganda’s Beach Volleyball top seeds, Geoffrey Onapa and Allan Ejiet Olokotum (Onapa/Olokotum), will feature in the World Beach Pro tour set for 20-23 August 2025 in the Burundian Capital of Bujumbura.

The pair last featured for Uganda at the 2023 CAVB Zone V Beach Volleyball event in Mombasa.

“We are looking forward to the experience of playing at the World Stage. We will give it our best shot as such opportunities come once in a while,” Said Geoffrey Onapa.

Bujumbura World Beach Pro Tour is the fourth edition of the global elite professional beach volleyball circuit organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) for the 2025 beach volleyball season.

Since March 2022, the Tour comprises three tiers: Future, Challenge, and Elite 16. The season ends with The Finals featuring the 10 best teams in the world.

The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour was established by the FIVB in October 2021, replacing the former FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour.

Burundi, Tanzania, Morocco, and Ghana are the African Countries that made entries in the women’s category, while Burundi, Tanzania, and Uganda made entries.

A total of 12 Countries (Women) and 27 Countries (Men) made entries for the 3-day event.

Winners of the Bujumbura Future will go home with US$5,000 in prize money.
