Kampala, Uganda – 7 May 2025 | On 16th August 2025, Lugogo, Kampala will host the annual Uganda Volleyball Federation AGM and Elective Congress.
The one-day event will bring together affiliates from across Uganda to reflect on the achievements and lay plans for the next 4-years.
The Congress initially held every January was deferred to August in alignment with the new Uganda Sports Act and the Uganda Volleyball Constitution.
In a memo dated 3rd May and signed by The General Secretary Godwin Nakaana Ssennyondo, announced the two events.
“ This serves to invite you to send a maximum of two delegates to this year’s Elective Congress Meeting slated for Saturday August 16, 2025. The Congress will be held at the National Council of Sports – Lugogo, starting at 2.00pm.
The agenda for the Congress will be as follows.

- Opening Prayer
- Adoption of Agenda
- Roll Call
- Presentation and approval of the Board of Administration report;
- Presentation and approval of the audited financial report;
- Adoption of the annual budget;
- Appointment of the external auditors;
- Election of the President;
- Election of Executive and Board Members;
- Closing Remarks; and
- Closing prayer “
Ssennyondo also announced the elective positions available based on the new Constitution.
“The Board of Administration positions to be filled during the Elective Congress Meeting include:
- President
- Vice President
- General Secretary
- Assistant General Secretary
- Treasurer
- Athletes Representative
- Gender in Minority Representative (Elected or appointed)
As per UVF Constitution (Amendment) 2023, all the Seven (07) Regional Associations are expected to have conducted elections by 16 July 2025 to determine their representatives to the Board of Administration. Those successful candidates shall be presented to the Congress for ratification”.
There will be no room for 2nd Vice President that has always been taken up by women, instead there is a Gender Minority Representative.
The premier Club Representatives have also been replaced by Athletes representatives.

A few additions have been added to the qualifications for one to be elected to the Board.
2.1.7 Only individuals who are seconded by a Premier Club who is in good standing with the Federation have the right to be elected members of the Executive or Board for the next term.
2.1.8 The above-mentioned individuals shall possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. In addition, all individuals should demonstrate participation in the management of Volleyball at Schools or Club level.
