Kampala, Uganda – 7 May 2025 | Uganda Christian University Men’s volleyball team will have to negotiate the 2024\25 Uganda national Volleyball league without Dieu Est Là Ndahayo .
The Rwandan international signed for the Mukono based side but has been declared ineligible to play.
“We did all that was within our powers to comply with all the requirements by the Uganda Volleyball Federation but we have hit a dead end” Said Juma Osunge, Coach at UCU Doves.
Uganda Volleyball Federation Secretariat discouraged UCU from using the player due to international transfer limitations.
“UVF asked us to provide Dieu Est Là Ndahayo’s Admission letter so that he can qualify for an International Student Transfer Waiver ($70), but our Admission Window, we shall present that as soon as he gets admitted” Added Osunge.
But that aside, Ndahayo featured for Kigali Volleyball Club against Kepler and Police in the 2nd round of the Rwanda National Volleyball League thus making him ineligible to play in any other league this season.
UCU Doves, not new to play offs will square up with defending Championship Sport-S in the semifinals of the National Volleyball League Play-offs.
If they go past Sport-S, they will have to negotiate with the winner between Nemostars and KCCA for their maiden National League title.
