Brazilian Coach Roberto Oliviera “has left his role as a head coach” at the Kitende based Vipers Soccer Club, the club announced via it’s website on Thursday afternoon.

Unveiled in August 2021 to replace Fred Kajoba, Oliviera leaves the team ahead of his three-year contract that expires in 2024.

Reasons for his departure are yet to be established but plans are underway to have him replaced immediately.

“Vipers sports club announces that Mr.Roberto Oliveira has left his role as a head coach with immediate effect.”

“The club would like to thank Roberto for his tireless efforts as a head coach during his time at vipers sports club and to wish him success in the future.”

“The Club shall in the shortest time possible come out with a statement on the club’s technical bench leadership following the departure of its Head Coach.” The Statement read.

The attack minded gaffer has won the Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup titles with Vipers and also managed to deliver the club to the Continental stage where they are currently playing in the CAF Champions League after eliminating TP Mazembe.

On his arrival Roberto said he would bring a winning mentality to the team, and if the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League results are anything to go by, he achieved the target. He has also won best coach of the month in the Pilsner monthly awards on numerous occasions.

Vipers are currently third on the log after completing round one of the UPL with 27 points, tied with BUL Fc, and two points below leaders KCCA FC.

Roberto lost his last match 1-0 away to Busoga United at the FUFA technical center in Njeru, and this completes a cycle of other matches lost away from home ground in the local league, making it a possible reason to have sparked his departure.
