Philip Wokorach torments Burundi in Africa Rugby 7s tournament

Uganda got their quest for a spot in the Rugby 2022 World cup with a 71-00 demolition of Burundi.

Wokorach scored four tries and eight conversions to the satisfaction of the early morning crowd at Kyadondo.

Wokorach who plays for Avenir Sportif Bédarrides-Chateuneuf du Pape (A.S.B.C) in France is not new to the big stage, he has been a key pillar of Uganda Rugby 15 and 7s in the past six years.

Defending champions Kenya scrapped past Senegal 19-00 in the first game.

In the second round, the eight winners including Zimbabwe who are the best loser from round one are grouped in two pools, the top two in each pool will progress to the semi finals.

The tournament serves as a qualifier for 2022 World Cup Rugby 7s in South Africa, where the top three teams will join host South Africa.

The top two teams including Kenya, will also qualify for the 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham

Uganda is pooled in a group with Tunisia, Burkina Faso and Zambia in group A

Defending Champions Kenya, Namibia, Madagascar and Zimbabwe will battle in group B
