andan hitman Daudi Okello is causing havoc in the 2023 Asian Volleyball Club Championship in Bahrain.
Okello inspired newbies Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi to their maiden continental club final at their first appearance as well.
Okello scored 24 points against Qatar’s Police Volleyball Club on Saturday to win 3-1 (11-25, 29-27, 25-24, 25-23) and set up a dream final with defending champions Suntory Sunbirds on Sunday.
In the other semifinals, Shahdab Yazd of Iran was defeated by Suntory Sunbirds of Japan 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 34-32, 25-17) on Saturday.
Shahdab will take on Qatar’s Police in the third-placed match on Sunday while Suntory play Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi in the final match.
‘It’s a job well done, for a new team, and competing in a continental championship for the first time, the team has done well’. Said Daudi Okello.
Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi is an Indonesian professional volleyball team. The team was founded in 2022. They are based in Jakarta and are members of the Indonesian Volleyball Federation (PBVSI). Their home arena is Padepokan Voli Jenderal Polisi Kunarto in Bogor.
The 23rd Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship is being held in Manama, Bahrain, and will climax on Sunday 21st May 2023.

Dmitry Aleksandrovich Muserskiy, the 2.18 m (7 ft 2 in)multiple World League medallist has been a kingpin for the defending Champions.
‘We played them in the group stages and they beat us 3-2, we will take the game to them tonight’. Said Okello.
Suntory Sunbirds is a men’s volleyball team based in Osaka City, Osaka, Japan. It plays in V.League Division 1. The club was founded in 1973. The owner of the club is Suntory. It has won the Asian Volleyball Championship twice, in 2001 and 2022.
Okello is also destined for either a top scorer or MVP depending on how the finals sport out.
The champion will qualify for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship.
