Ndejje elites have featured in 2013, 2014, and 2016 editions of the WACC.

Double champions Ndejje Elites have this morning been flagged off to feature at the Africa Volleyball Club Championship in Tunis, Tunisia from May 19 to June 1.

The varsity team won the National Club Championship last year in Kabale and also were recently crowned winners of the National Volleyball League title (2021/22) to qualify them for two AWCC’s in a row.

Clearly it’s not the first time the ladies are volleying for Uganda having featured in 2013, 2014, and 2016 before setting out for their fourth time this year.

Uganda’s most recent appearance at the championships came through Nkumba in 2019 who gannered two points from the tournament and exited at group stage.

Neighbors Kenya have the most titles on the continent having won with Kenya Pipeline (6), Kenya Prisons (5), Kenya Posta (2), and Kenya Commercial Bank (1) summing up to 13 trophies.

Tunisia’s Ahly return as the most decorated club in this continental tournament with 10 trophies to their names since winning their first in 1990.

2021 saw an all Tunisian final as Cf de Carthage beat CS Sfaxien 3-0 to dethrone Al Ahly in Kelibia for their second trophy.

National Council of Sports Assistant General Secretary David Katende flagged off the Ndejje contingent at the Council headquarters in Kampala and are expected to set off at 5pm on Thursday.
