NBL; Power secures walkover Win Amid Kit Rule Upset
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Following the recently concluded women’s Afrobasket games in Kigali, that caused a temporary hold on the NBL, action has resumed as teams pick up the competition right where they left off.

With the rescheduling of league games and the release of an updated fixture (attached.), the league is now setting the stage for the upcoming playoffs.

The game between Ndejje University Angels and City Oilers on Wednesday night showcased a remarkable upset in the National Basketball League.

City Oilers, who were previously unbeaten this season, fell to Ndejje with an 88-80 scoreline.

The victory was particularly surprising as Ndejje, a relegation-threatened side, managed to overcome a 17-game winning streak of City Oilers.

The win boosts Ndejje’s confidence as they gear up to face Our Saviour as the City Oilers regroup for their upcoming match against KIU Titans on August 23.

On Friday night, an intense showdown between the KCCA Leopards and the JT Lady Jaguars unfolded, culminating in a thrilling 55-54 victory for the Leopards.

The spotlight was on Susan Rebecca Aanyu, who earned the title of player of the game with an impressive double-double performance.

Aanyu notched 17 points, secured 10 rebounds, and one crucial block.

In an unexpected turn of events, D-Mark Power was granted a walkover victory against UCU Canons.

The game took a surprising twist as UCU, the home team, found themselves unable to comply with the kit rules.

As per the regulations, the home team is required to don a lighter-colored kit, while the away team spots a darker hue.

Due to the failure to adhere to these guidelines, D-Mark Power emerged with an uncontested win, raising questions about the organization and preparedness of the UCU Canons.
