Makerere Bulls emerged victorious against Kyambogo in a closely contested University derby in the Uganda Handball Super League.

The match held at the Kibuli handball court was an incredible display of emotions and intense moments that left spectators amazed by the passion and emotions exhibited by the University players.

The game threw off with Kyambogo taking an early lead as they scored the first goal of the match, setting the tone for an exciting clash.

However, Makerere Bulls swiftly responded, equalizing before forcing themselves into the lead through their captain, Wilson.

The Bulls managed to maintain their advantage, staying three points ahead of Kyambogo as the first half drew to a close. The scoreline at halftime stood at 16-12 in favor of Makerere Bulls.

As the second half commenced, Kyambogo once again struck first, bringing the score to 16-13.

However, the match was soon marred by controversy when Kyambogo contested what they deemed as dubious calls made by the referee.

The situation escalated, leading to two red cards being issued—one to the Kyambogo coach and the other to Kenneth Twinomugisha.

Initially, Kyambogo threatened to abandon the game in protest. However, after negotiations at the referee table, both teams reached an agreement, and the match resumed.

Makerere Bulls, determined to maintain their dominance, continued to surge ahead, stretching their lead to an impressive ten goals.

With less than two minutes remaining on the full-time countdown, the score stood at 34-24 in favor of the Bulls.

Despite the uphill battle, Kyambogo displayed resilience in the dying moments of the game.

With just 30 seconds left on the clock, they managed to score the final goal, bringing the match to a close with a final score of 35-25 in favor of Makerere Bulls.

Emmanuel Lukenge of Makerere Bulls was awarded the title of man of the match for his exceptional performance, contributing five goals and six assists to his team’s victory. His outstanding display played a pivotal role in the Bulls’ triumph.

In other games played during match day four, Ndejje Hoppers showcased their dominance as they secured a resounding victory over Evergreen Handball Club, with a final score of 49-20.

Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Ndejje faced a narrow defeat at the hands of UPDF Women, with a scoreline of 26-25.

This match, too, was not without controversy as controversial referee calls sparked heated debates among players and fans alike.
