URA FC took home maximum points from Police FC at the Phillip Omondi stadium in Lugogo on Friday after a 2-0 win with goals from Rwothomio Cromwel and Shafic Kagimu.

Police FC appointed John Kayinda as Head Coach and former Uganda Cranes International Tony Mawejje as his assistant on an interim basis following the exit of Coach Abdallah Mubiru earlier this month.

The points aid the tax collectors to cruise one point past BUL FC who are now 4th on the Uganda Premier League log .

Cromwel’s goal came 10 minutes after kick off to give the visitors a lead but this only seemed to be a teaser when Shafic Kagimu came in with the second goal 4 minutes into the second stanza of the game.

Police remain unmoved 14th on the log with 24 points, two ahead of Mbarara City both still dangling in the relegation zone moments.

In the other game, Onduparaka FC beat Express FC 2-0 at away in Wankulukuku to square points with 8th placed army side UPDF.

Muhammad Shaban was on the wheel as the caterpillars got into the lead 4 minutes after kick off helping the Arua outfit keep in the lead for the whole 45 minutes.

5 minutes after restart, Shaban got onto the score sheet once again to push Onduparaka’s score to 2-0.

The brace reignites his chase for the golden boot against nemesis Ceaser Manzoki of Vipers SC who now lead the top scorers log by one at 16 goals.
