Phuket, Thailand | The Kenya Women’s Volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, gave a spirited fight in their opening match at the 2025 FIVB World Championship in Phuket, Thailand on Saturday against Germany.

A promising first set and third set performance was not enough to yield victory for the African champions as they went down 3-0 (22-25, 8-25, 20-25) at the Saphan Hin-4000 Seater Municipal Stadium in Phuket, Thailand.
Malkia Strikers, who are drawn in Pool “G”, will on Monday battle Poland before they complete their group assignments with a tie against Vietnam on Wednesday.

The top two teams in each pool will proceed to the second round of the championship.
