Uganda ended the 2025 Beach Woodball World Cup campaign at Laem Charoen Beach Thailand with three medals in custody.
The team managed a silver in the men’s singles, a bronze in the women’s singles and a bronze in the women’s doubles tallying three medals in the three-day tournament.

The women’s pair of Jackie Naula and Christine Birungi won Uganda a bronze in the doubles and later Naula in the women’s singles.
Thomas Khedi in the men’s final put up a spirited fight in six Fairways leveling 3-3 with Thailand’s Chaisongkram Peera who was on home ground before going for a decider that the Peera won.
Khedi attributed the defeat to just bad luck because he did all that he could.
“It was a tough fight. I tried my best but luck was not on our side. I wanted to set the ball and go for a three, but my opponent attacked and luck was on his side to score through the glass,” Khedi stated.
“I thank God for the silver and I will go back home to focus on improving the areas as I prepare for next tournaments both local and international,” Khedi added.
Uganda Woodball federation President Paul Mark Kayongo was impressed by the team’s performance.
“Winning three medals in the tournament of over eight Woodball Power house teams is not easy and I salute the team for their performance,” Kayongo noted.
Nepal, Hongkong, China-Japan, China Taipei, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, Uganda and hosts Thailand participated in the tournament.
