The Katogo Invitational Golf Series has teamed up with I&M Bank to present an exhilarating quarterly golf event at the lakeside golf course of Entebbe Club, catering to the interests of golf enthusiasts.

As part of the collaboration, players can look forward to receiving rewards and a memorable experience at the 19th hole.

Golf in Uganda has a bright future, and I&M Bank believes that partnering with golf events can help grow brands and players alike.

With the opening leg of the Katogo Invitational Series held in January, the second event is scheduled for 29th April and is expected to be bigger and better, thanks to the partnership with I&M Bank.

During a press briefing held at their Corporate Branch at Kingdom Kampala, Sam Ntulume, the Acting Managing Director at I&M Bank Uganda, announced that they will be offering prizes to the players and an exciting experience at the 19th hole. Ntulume expressed his belief that golf is a sport with a promising future in the country.

“We will also be availing prizes for the players as well as providing players with an exciting experience at the 19th hole, ” Sam Ntulume said, adding on that; “Golf is one of the sports we believe has a bright future in this country.”

The quarterly series consists of four events: Daytona, Call your shots, Me too, and Oh Gosh, with the series having started on 14th January 2023 and running up to 9th December 2023. The partnership will help improve facilities and the experience of members at the Entebbe Club.

The Sheema Boys duo, consisting of Andrew Atuhaire and Herbert Kamuntu, won the overall championship in the series’ first event, Daytona, with a total score of 680 nett.

The surroundings of the course were stunning, and the tournament proved to be an excellent platform for showcasing the golfers’ skills.

According to Jacob Byamukama, who is the Chairperson of Entebbe Club, the January event was not sponsored.

However, he mentioned that the upcoming second event will be bigger and better with the support of I&M Bank. Byamukama also expressed his anticipation for a new atmosphere in the club by then.

“I&M Bank is partnering with us to see that we improve the facilities at the club as well as improving the experience of our members,” Byamukama said, further stating that their all-weather course is prepared to host golfers and that the new partnership will greatly assist the new executive committee in their work at the club.

The Me too event anticipated for around September could be a game-changer, as it prepares the golfers for the final event.

The Oh Gosh event in December will be the final leg of the series, and golfers will have one last chance to show off their skills before the end of the year.

The partnership with I&M Bank ensures that each event will be bigger and better than the last, with more prizes and an unforgettable experience at the 19th hole.

With these four exciting events lined up (three left), golfers can look forward to a year of competitive golf and unforgettable experiences.
