Matchday one fixture

Champions of the 2021/22 Women Super League season, She Corporate have been pitted against recently promoted side Makerere University WFC in the 2022/23 season opener on 17th September at the Makerere University grounds.

This is according to a fixture released today by the competitions department under FUFA, the country’s governing body of football.

She Corporate won last season’s trophy on a goal difference rule after they tied at 39 points with rivals Kampala Queens on final day while Makerere University beat Asubo Gafford Ladies 6-0 to win the Women’s Elite League and also gain promotion into the Super League.

The Sharks (She Corporate) are currently in Tanzania for the CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers, where all seems to be going on well for them having reached the semi-finals.

They will be taking on Ethiopia’s Commercial Bank Fc tomorrow -Wednesday- as a pathway into the finals that will be played on Saturday.

In the local league, Kampala Queens will be putting up with another new league entrant Asubo Gafford Ladies on Sunday 18th September at IUIU Kabojja Campus while Uganda Matyrs HS WFC and Olila HS WFC will host Rines SS and Lady Doves respectively.

In another interesting fixture to wait, Champions She Corporate will face off with Challengers Kampala Queens on Matchday two -25th September- at Mubs in Nakawa to finish the undone business.

Heading into the new season, the Queens boost of having the heftiest portion of the national team players at the Palace, with players like Shamira Nalugya, Margaret Kunihira, and Lillian Mutuuzo who were outstanding performers at the TotalEnergies WAFCON 2022 in Morocco.

Among their acquisitions are Sumaya Komuntale, Daisy Nakaziro and Asia Nakibuuka from Kawempe Muslim Ladies. Keep in mind the window is still open till 21st September.

She Corporate on the other hand are comfortable as well with a strong squad to rely on and a number of signings they have so far made in the window.

Bringing on board Joanita Ainembabazi from Rines SS WFC, Anita Namata from Uganda Martyrs, Zahara Nankya from Makerere University, Spencer Nakacwa from Lady Doves and Cissy Nakate from UCU Lady Cardinals among others.

Four time champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies will seek to bring back their lost glory after a terrible cap from last season.

Known for their raw talent sourced from the School team, the Muslims will bank on the young blood in Shakira Nyinagahirwa, Hadijja Nandago, Samalie Nakacwa, Nankwanga Shakira, Esther Nangendo among others to challenge the big girls.
