Fortebet awards Stars for the month of May

On Tuesday, fortebet honoured five personalities excelling in Uganda sport for the month of May in their various disciplines and here are the winners.

Best Footballer of the month

Ikwaput celebrating at the cecafa senior women’s challenge in njeru

Best Athlete of the month

Victor Cherotich. The teenager attained a silver in the 3000M and a bronze in the 1500M at the ISF world school games.

He beat golden boy Joshua Cheptegai and Stella Chesang who won big at the 10km Absa run your city in Capetown.

Best Cricketer of the month

Janet Mbabazi. The soroti challengers’ skipper performed exceptionally well for the Victoria pearls with 74 runs from a total of 69 balls.

She collected two player of the match awards and eventually scooped the player of the series at the Nepal campaign.

Among the nominees were teammate Kevin Awino and Simon Ssesazzi.

Best Basketballer of the month

James Okello. The city oiler scored 18 points and 15 rebounds against Our Saviour, 15points and 10 rebounds against KIU and 11 points plus 18 rebounds against Ndejje Elites.

Upon his win, the giant said, “It was a tight race and I really appreciate”. “…this motivates me as a player to keep getting better”. He further explained

He stunned teammate Tony Drileba and third nominee Brenda Ekone the league highest scorer who stars for the JLK Dolphins. The latter scored a record 30 points in a single game

Best Netballer of the month

Stella Oyella took home a plague thanks to the 37 goals she scored as NIC edged kcca in the league final. The shooter also was above average in the EA netball championship.

She beat fellow ballers Jessica Achan and Shaffie Nalwanja to bag the Netballer of the month award.

Winners were honored with cash prizes plus accolades crafted by partial sponsor Jude color solutions and handed by Henry Zimbe and Isaac Mukasa.
