Uganda launched the National Youth Camp (NYC) this morning in Kampala, the FIBA sanctioned event is set to run from 21st-26th Feb 2022
The camp aims to help the federation to identify new talents & build Youth Development Programs for local players and coaches.
The National Youth Camp will be run by FIBA and NBA coaching experts and the camp consists of 30 U18 players (15-Boys and 15-Girls) and coaches.
First 3 days are special for training coaches, then the last 3 days are dedicated for the young players.
At the end of the National Youth Camp the best players will be invited to a Regional Youth Camp, which will gather players from different parts of the continent between May and June 2022.
From that session, organizers will select players for the Basketball Without Borders 2022.
Nour Amri the FIBA and NBA Instructor will run the camp alongside another FIBA Instructor Joe Tom
Uganda has benefited from Basketball without boarders in the past notably Jimmy Enabu who attended a high performance training camp in South Africa
