Doha, Qatar | Uganda International, Daudi Okello will play in one of the top-most competitions for any Volleyball player in the World.
Okello, one of Africa’s best opposite hitters, is now turning out for Asian Champions Al-Rayyan Sports Club after signing a one-year Contract.

The Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship will take place from 16-21 December in Belém City, Brazil.
Al Rayyan Volleyball will be returning to a familiar territory. They were runners-up of the 2014 World Club Championship held in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, which was won by the Russian club Belogorie Belgorod.
Okello is not new to the big stage, having featured for top European clubs in Bulgaria and Turkey before becoming a household name in the Korean Volleyball League.
“It’s a great feeling, since it’s my 1st World Club Championship and to play in a Championship with great teams and players World over”. Said Daudi Okello
On Saturday, Okello guided the Al-Rayyan Sports Club to a 3-0 win over Al Khor, also home to Kenyan International Simon Kipkorir in the Qatar Volleyball League. He had also featured in the 3-2 win over Al Shamal on Tuesday.

Okello will play Al Gharafa, Al Sadd, and Al-Ahli in the Qatar Domestic league between 3rd and 9th December before heading to Brazil.
At the World Championship, Okello will exchange peasantries with Praia Clube (Bra), Zawiercie (Pol), and Volei Renata (Bra) in Pool A.

About Al Rayyan Volleyball
Al Rayyan Volleyball is a professional volleyball team based in Al-Rayyan Doha, Qatar. It competes in the Qatari Volleyball League. They participated in the 2012 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship held in Qatar after winning the Heir Apparent Cup.
