Top Volleyball clubs from Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi and Kenya will lock horns in the second edition of the CAVB Zone V Club Championship in Kigali Rwanda.
The 14-19th November event has attracted 6 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams.
Kigali is hosting the premier club show piece for the second time having hosted the maiden men’s edition in 2019 and now both genders, women playing their first edition.
Federation Rwandaise De Volleyball (FRVB) President Mr. Raphael Ngarambe, welcomed member to the championship and wished all the countries a fruitful competition.
CAVB Zone V Championship rebranded from the defunct East and Central Africa Club Championships that was last held in 2007 in Nairobi, the new edition was held in 2019 at the Petit Stadium in Kigali, thereafter COVID-19 took its toll on sports.

“It’s a start of something bigger for the Zone, given the size of our zone, we have to do everything possible to ensure that we are on top of our game and together we can achieve more”. Said Fernand Sauveur Ruterana, President CAVB Zone V.
The championship will be held on a round robin format with 12 matches for men and 12 matches for women.
Defending Champions Gisagara VC will miss out on the tournament after player exodus just few days to the Championship.
