Nigeria Customs Female Volleyball Team Wins 2025 Super Volleyball Championship

Accra, Ghana  | Fresh off the success of their male football counterparts who lifted the 2025 Maritime Cup, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded yet another sporting triumph, this time on the volleyball court as the NCS Female Volleyball Team clinched the women’s title at the 2025 Super Volleyball Championship in Accra, Ghana.

According to a press release issued by Assistant Superintendent of Customs I Afolabi Ajayi, the Public Relations Officer of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) issued on 28 November 2025 stated that the tournament took place on Sunday, 23 November 2025, at the Borteyman Sports Complex, where the Nigerian team delivered a dominant, unbeaten performance.

The Customs ladies according to the statement, secured convincing victories over Ghana Navy, Ghana Immigration, and Ekwak Wings Volleyball Clubs before sealing their flawless campaign with a commanding 3–0 victory against the Ghana Airforce. They posted set scores of 25–20, 25–23, and 25–14 to emerge champions in emphatic fashion.

The Commander, TRADOC Department of NCS, Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs Suleiman Chiroma, expressed deep satisfaction with the achievement, praising both the athletes and the technical staff for their commitment and competitive spirit. “This victory reflects discipline, resilience and the winning mentality we encourage across the Service. The team have shown outstanding character, and they have done the Nigeria Customs Service proud,” he said.

He further attributed the team’s success to the continuous support of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, noting that the Service’s investment in sports development continues to strengthen its presence in regional competitions.

The tournament also saw several NCS players earn top individual honours. Kelechi Genevieve was named Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite, Maryam Ibrahim won Best Attacker, Aisha Umar emerged as Best Server, and Bukky Oluwatosin claimed the Best Middle Blocker award. In addition, the NCS Head Coach, Suleiman Ajeigbe, was recognized as Best Coach of the championship.
