Kenya Pipeline Volleyball Club, the KVF 2024/25 champions, came from two sets down to beat A5 Volleyball from the USA in a thrilling five-set international friendly at ABSA Sports Club, Nairobi. The match ended 25-22, 26-24, 25-27, 15-25, 08-15.

A5 Volleyball, who are touring Kenya after visiting Rwanda and Tanzania, gave a tough fight but Pipeline showed great determination to secure the win. This friendly was a good preparation for Kenya Pipeline as they get ready for the upcoming national league. The team played without outside hitter Daisy Leting and middle blocker Lydia Iswan, who recently joined the DCI team under the National Police Service.

A5 Volleyball will now face KVF runners-up, DCI, at Nyayo National Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Kenya Pipeline coach Geoffrey Omondi reflected on the match.

“This match was an eye-opener. We have identified areas to improve, particularly in serving, backcourt play, and defence, as we prepare for the league.”

The KVF National Women’s League will run from 12th to 14th December 2025 at the Nyayo National Stadium Basketball Court. Kenya Pipeline will start their league campaign against Kenya Army on Friday and finish against Kenya Prisons on Saturday.
