Bujumbura, Burundi | The much-anticipated FIVB homologated CAVB Zone V Beach Volleyball Championship officially serves off today, October 23rd, 2025, at Eden Garden Resort in Bujumbura, Burundi, following a successful technical meeting held last night.

The regional championship has attracted participation from five countries: Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, and Kenya, with a total of seven women’s teams and eight men’s teams drawn into two pools each.

Speaking during the technical meeting, CAVB Zone V President Sadik Nasiwu emphasized the importance of the session, noting that it sets the pace for the tournament.

“The technical meeting is very crucial as it defines the direction we are going. We are really committed to ensuring we have homologated events in our region. If at least eight out of our twelve member countries can have homologated beach volleyball events, our athletes will begin to gain ranking points globally,” said Nasiwu.

The three-day event, running from October 23rd to 25th, promises thrilling action as teams battle for top honors and valuable ranking points in the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) calendar.
