Nairobi, Kenya | The stage is set for a thrilling finale at the 2025 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term 2B Games, as volleyball powerhouses Kesogon and Kwanthanze renew their rivalry. On the boys’ side, Cheptil will battle Malava Boys in a much-anticipated final showdown.

Girls’ Semifinals.

Kesogon Secondary School clinched a spot in the finals after edging out Bishop Sulumeti in a hard-fought semifinal. The opening set was a nail-biter, with Kesogon rallying from behind to win 31-29. Bishop Sulumeti had taken an early lead, 6-2, and extended it to 12-8 before the Kesogon coach called a timeout to halt their momentum.

Bishop Sulumeti’s jersey number 8 posed a major threat with a powerful jump serve, helping the team reach 15-9. However, Coach Marani’s side regrouped and mounted a comeback from 13-21, eventually levelling at 23-23. Kesogon then sealed the set 31-29.

They went on to win the second set 25-23 and dominated the third 25-15, booking their place in the final against defending champions Kwanthanze.

In the other semifinal, Kwanthanze overpowered Soweto in straight sets (25-17, 25-12, 25-13), setting up a repeat of last year’s final in Kisii, where they edged Kesogon 3-2.

Third Place Playoff: Bishop Sulumeti will face Soweto in the bronze medal match. All four teams have qualified for the upcoming FEASSA Games to be held in Kakamega.

Boys’ Semifinals

In the boys’ category, defending champions, Cheptil Secondary defeated Mwaluphamba from the Coast region in straight sets (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) to book their spot in the final.

They will face Malava Boys, who overcame Gogo from the Nyanza region with a 3-1 win (25-18, 19-25, 25-16, 25-14). After dropping the second set, Malava bounced back strongly to close out the match.

Third Place Playoff: Gogo will clash with Mwaluphamba for third place.
