Perfect draws for the BVB Continental Cup 2025 in Morocco

Martil, Morocco | The draw for the CAVB Senior Women’s Continental Cup offers interesting posters in the women’s category.

The best African women’s beach volleyball teams meet on the sand of the seaside resort of Martil for. The competition will take place from Martil, Morocco – from 23 to 30 June 2025.

The 2025 edition already promises to be exciting with 88 women’s pairs representing 22 nations, divided into six pools following a draw carried out under the aegis of the African Volleyball Confederation.

Historic participation and expected confrontations

Among the highlights of this draw, we note the participation of Togo, for the first time in this competition in the women’s category, which will play in Pool A alongside Morocco, the host country, and Cape Verde. An open group where each pair will be able to believe in a qualification for the final draw.

Pool A: Morocco, Togo, Cape Verde

Pool B: Nigeria, Burundi, Kenya 2

Pool C: Mozambique, Benin, Morocco 2

Pool D: Mauritius, Kenya, Nigeria 2

Pool E: Egypt, Ghana, Burundi 2

Pool F: Rwanda, Gambia, Ghana2, Mozambique 2

A rich and spicy line-up

Nigeria, the continent’s regular champions, are represented by two teams in Pools B and D. Kenya also has a dual presence, a symbol of its growing ambition on the continental circuit. Egypt, another great nation in the discipline, will face Ghana and a second Burundian team in Pool E.

Challenges beyond sport

This championship is not just about a simple quest for medals. It is also a qualifying step towards the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships next November in Australia. For several emerging nations, the tournament is a stepping stone to the world stage, but also a way to strengthen the development of women’s sport on the continent.

Martil, crossroads of the future of African women’s beach volleyball

With a favourable climate, a welcoming seaside infrastructure and growing fervour, Martil will become the epicentre of African beach volleyball in 2025. This tournament is also an opportunity for the CAVB to promote the values of equity, sporting excellence and female influence, in line with its strategic vision for the discipline.

The men’s draw reflects the richness and diversity of African beach volleyball. Morocco, the host country, has a strong representation with three teams divided into Pools A, B and C. Togo, for its part, will cross swords in Pool C with Cape Verde and one of the Moroccan teams, in a promising confrontation.

Pool A: Morocco, Burundi 2 and Kenya 2.

Pool B: Mozambique, Niger, Morocco 2

Pool C: Togo, Cape Verde, Morocco 3

Pools D: Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique 2

Pool E: Senegal, Rwanda, Gambia 2

Pool F: Nigeria, Egypt, Niger 2

Pool G: Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria 2

Pool H:  Burundi, Benin, Egypt 2, Ghana 2

This championship is not only a race for the African title. It also represents a crucial qualifying step towards the Beach Volleyball World Championships, scheduled for next November in Australia. Each match is therefore of paramount importance in the selection process.
