Istanbul, Türkiye, – 9 May 2025 | After not making the cut for the Korean V-League, Kenya International Volleyball Player Pamela Adhiambo will take a rest and prepare for the Kenya National Team engagement and the new season.
“The tryouts were really nice and very competitive, everyone put in their best foot forward to be able to achieve the dream of playing in Korea, I can say hard work pays off and it may not be seen there and then but for sure it shall be seen one day, one time.” Said the Kenyan Opposite hitter.
She was not among the 7 drafted to the Korean V-League where Cameroonian International Laetitia Moma Bassoko switched from Suwon Hyundai E&C Hillstate to Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass.

Adhiambo, a poster girl in the Mestaruusliiga Women’s League with LP Viesti Salo was the only African out of the 34 Volleyballers World over to the 2025 draft.
“I did a good job actually, helped my team secure a spot in the CEV next season and even got an MVP award” Said Adhiambo.



LP Viesti Salo finished 5th in the Mestaruusliiga Women’s League, Finland’s topflight league with 10-teams.
The former Kenya Pipeline star scored 672 points in only half the season, shattering the 26-year-old record of 669 set by Tiina Hamunen in the 1998-1999 Finish Women’s Volleyball season.

“It was a great season for me as much as I needed another win in the playoffs but still, I’m happy I have something to be proud of”. Added the 24-Year-old.
Adhiambo fancies her chances playing for the Kenya National Team at the World Championship under new Coach Geoffrey Omondi.

“When invited to the National Team, I shall be ready to give my best and play for my country in the world championship”. Adhiambo Said
Adhiambo made her debut for Malkia strikers during the 2024 African Games qualifiers in Cairo Egypt and went on to represent Kenya at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Malkia Strikers will head for a one-week camp in Vietnam ahead of the FIVB World championship scheduled for August 22 to September 7 in Thailand.
The event will be held in four cities of Bangkok,Nakhon Ratchasim,Chiang Mai and Phuket.
Malkia strikers have been drawn in pool “G” together with Germany, Poland and Vietnam.
Other African representatives Cameroon will be in the company of Ukraine, Serbia and Japan in pool “H” as Egypt are drawn in pool “A” that also has Thailand, Netherlands and Sweden.
