Raba, Morocco – 7 May 2025 | Sports Journalists from around the World will gather in Morocco for the 2025 AIPS Congress and 2024 Sports Media Award from 13 to 17 May 2025 in Rabat. No African sports Journalist made the top three in all 8 categories to be awarded on the night.

The AIPS Congress is a gathering of esteemed sports journalists and industry leaders from around the world, providing a platform for meaningful discussions on the future of sports journalism.

The event returns to Morocco for the second time in 2025, with Marrakbeingbeen the host venue in 2005. Nearly 300 attendees are expected, including leading sports journalists and media stakeholders. They will explore emerging trends such as event coverage, ethical reporting, and the growing role of technology in sports journalism.

AIPS will also conduct the AIPS Sport Media Awards 2024. Winners of the 7th edition will be crowned at the elegant Palais Jawhara in Rabat, Morocco, the first time the ceremony will be held in Africa.

2065 submissions were received from 136 different countries, only 305 made the shortlist, 95 reached the Top 10 nominees (including the 15 best Young Reporters) and 24 are now officially podium nominees.

The members of the Jury will meet the day before the ceremony to determine the final positions of these nominees. Winners of each senior category will receive US$ 8,000 (1st prize), US$ 3,000 (2nd prize), and US$ 2,000 (3rd prize).

Unlike the senior categories, there is no podium in the Young Reporters categories, that guarantee a scholarship during a top international event. The three remaining candidates on each of the Young Reporters categories will be announced tomorrow and winners will be unveiled during the ceremony.

Also, special Awards, including A Life in Sports and Investigative Reporting, will be part of the celebration in Rabat. The gala will also unveil the Special Commendations for some of the highlighted works, regardless of their final position.

Based on voting from the 12-member AIPS Sport Media Awards Jury, here are the top 3 in each senior category, listed in alphabetical order of country:
