Nairobi, Kenya, April 10, 2025 , Kenya Pipeline Women’s volleyball team has advanced to the semi-finals of the CAVB African Women’s Club Championship after an emphatic straight-sets victory over Rwanda’s APR. Pipeline sealed the win with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, and 25-14, booking their place in the last four with a dominant performance.

KPC will now face defending champions Zamalek of Egypt in the semi-final on April 11 at 6:00 PM (EAT) in what promises to be a thrilling clash of continental heavyweights.

Pipeline vs Zamalek: The Semi-Final Clash

This semi-final encounter brings together two volleyball powerhouses with a rich history of rivalry. The two teams last met in the 2023 African Club Championship final, where Zamalek defeated Pipeline 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-15, 25-17) to claim their second consecutive continental title.

Title Records:

Kenya Pipeline: Six-time African champions, with their most recent title dating back to 2005.

Zamalek: Two-time African champions, having clinched the title in 2023 and 2024.

The pipeline will be looking to avenge their 2023 loss and break a two-decade title drought, while Zamalek aims to continue their dominance and secure a third consecutive African crown. The match promises to be an exciting showdown as both teams battle for a spot in the championship final.

Meanwhile, Kenya’s other representatives, KCB and Kenya Prisons, were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Egyptian powerhouses. KCB fell 3-1 to Zamalek, while Kenya Prisons were eliminated by Al Ahly.

Both teams will now shift focus to the classification rounds:

11th April 2025

Kenya Prisons vs Litto at 2:00 PM

KCB vs APR Rwanda at 4:00 PM

As the competition continues, all eyes are on Kenya Pipeline, hoping they can continue their momentum and bring home the coveted African club title.
