Abuja Nigeria, April 8, 2025 – Two-time Champions CFC of Tunisia are through to the quarterfinals after a 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-20) win over Sococim of Senegal in their round of sixteen tie.
Sococim trailed 8-1 in the first set and were unable to recover as Carthage set up a very high tempo. It was all spike after spike to take set one 25-11.
Sococim returned with a better game plan and were 11-11 at some point but lost steam to give Carthage a 25-17 win in the second set.
Carthage led13-4 and never looked back despite some formidable resistance from the Senegalese side. 25-20, the set ended in favor of the North African Side.
Carthage becomes the first side to book a slot in the quarterfinals and will wait for the winner between Litto and Chiefs of Naval Nigeria.
