In a thrilling matchup on match-day three of the Handball Super League, Ndejje Women emerged victorious against Victoria University in a high-scoring encounter held at the Police Children’s School in Kibuli.

The atmosphere was electric as both teams showcased their skills and battled it out for supremacy on the court.

Ndejje started off the game in dominant fashion, quickly taking the lead with a penalty shot converted by Obadia Niyengenera. She continued to impress, doubling the lead with another well-executed goal.

Not to be outdone, Edyaru Esther of Victoria University swiftly responded with a fantastic side attack, netting her team’s first goal.

Throughout the match, both teams displayed equal ball possession, but it was Ndejje who capitalized on their opportunities in the arc, thanks to the contributions of Obadia and Bako Shakira. Shakira’s exceptional performance saw her finishing the game with an impressive six goals.

On the other side, Esther Edyaru showcased her prowess as Victoria’s go-to player, utilizing her left wing to deliver crucial goals. Obangit Hilda Mary provided valuable support from the left back position.

With ten minutes remaining in the first half, Rachael Nyakayisiki’s entry proved to be a game-changer, rejuvenating the team and steadying their performance.

At halftime, Ndejje held a solid lead with a score of 16-11, placing them in pole position for the win.

As the second half commenced, Ndejje maintained their advantage, managing to stay ahead by six goals despite Victoria’s relentless efforts to narrow the gap.

Victoria, fueled by determination and energy, gradually closed in on Ndejje’s lead. The pressure intensified, and the six-goal margin was reduced to a mere two goals as the match reached its climax.

However, Ndejje’s resilience proved vital as they held their ground and fended off Victoria’s fierce comeback attempt.

When the final whistle blew, it was Ndejje who emerged triumphant with a final score of 35-29, securing a well-deserved victory.

Acholla Lillian, who made significant contributions throughout the match, was named the Player of the Match, tallying an impressive six goals for Ndejje.

Obadia Niyengenera was the top scorer for Ndejje with eight goals, closely followed by Rachel Nyakayisiki, who notched seven goals.

For Victoria University, Bella Adams showcased her skills as the leading scorer with seven goals, while Akite Gloria contributed five goals to their team’s tally.

After match day three, Ndejje Women secure a second win, following their thrushing of Kyambogo Women 44-11 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Victoria University suffers their first loss of the season and will now seek to regroup as quick as possible, before they face Kyambogo women in their next fixture.

Else where, Kyambogo Women suffered a defeat of 11-48 against UPDF Women, while Police HC secured their second victory under Ssemujju Frank Wyne by defeating Prisons 26-20 in the men’s league.
