Defending Champions, National Insurance Corporation (NIC-Uganda) defeated compatriot, Prisons (Uganda) 49-37 to win the regional crown in Nairobi.
The East and Central Africa netball championship came to a close on Saturday at the Ulinzi sports complex in Nairobi Kenya.
In the run up to the finale, both NIC and Prisons were undefeated in the event that Started on 13th May 2023.
NIC remains the most successful club in this regional netball championship having won it a record 20 times.
Some of the players from the two teams will have no time to rest but head to the national team camp, the Uganda national team She Cranes are preparing for the 2023 netball World Cup in South Africa between 28th July- 6th August 2023.
In the men’s category, WOBd defeated defending Champions KIU 50-47 to lift their maiden regional gong.
Tanzania will host the 2024 edition in Dar es Salaam.
