Magical Adhiambo lands Greece deal

Kenya outside hitter Veronica Adhiambo has been rewarded with at 2 two year contract at Greece volleyball Club Panionios GSS.

The 24 year old Kenyan international has been a revelation at Tarsus Belediyespor leading her team to a 16th place finish out of 24 teams in the Türkiye Kadınlar Voleybol 1. Ligi last season

The outside hitter who has been an integral part of Kenyan National team set up is optimistic of even a better performance next season.

‘I’ll do the best for the success of my new club at 2023-24 season and it will be smooth preparation for me before 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers with Kenya’. Said the former Kenya Pipeline player.

Paul Bitok, the Kenya National Volleyball Women team’s head coach is all praise for the development.

‘Important is to have more Kenyan players playing in Europe and the experience they will gain will help Kenya team in future’. Said Paul Bitok

Kenya will be competing in FIVB Challenger cup and other FIVB competition in the coming months.

Greece is also home to another Kenya National team (Malkia Strikers) ace Sharon Chepchumba.

GS Panionios is a top Greece volleyball club who will also play in the European Super League having finished 7th in the domestic league last season.
