New York Red Bulls II has announced the signing of Ugandan midfielder Ibrahim Kasule on a contract that runs until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old had previously been on the radar of Turkish side Ankara Keçiörengücü but a move there failed to materialize.

The news of Kasule’s signing has been met with excitement by Red Bulls II Sporting Director Denis Hamlett, who believes that the midfielder’s qualities can add value to the team.

Kasule has been in fine form in the Uganda Premier League this season, where he scored six goals and provided five assists for his former club, Wakiso Giants.

Kasule’s journey to the United States is a testament to his talent and perseverance. He was once considered one of Uganda’s brightest prospects and had been tipped to make it big in Europe.

However, his move to Turkey fell through, and he was left to ponder his next move.

Fortunately for Kasule, Red Bulls II came calling, and he now has an opportunity to showcase his talents on the American stage.

Kasule joins former Wakiso Giants teammates Frank Ssebuufu and Steven Sserwadda, as well as former Uganda Cranes defender Ibrahim Sekagya, who is now the head coach of Red Bulls II.

Captured in a candid moment, Frank Ssebuufu and Ibrahim Kasule join Ibrahim Sekagya for a group selfie.

Sekagya played a significant role in bringing Kasule to the team and cites the midfielder’s success in Uganda at a young age as one of the factors that convinced him to make the move.

Kasule’s technical ability, vision, and work ethic make him an exciting prospect, and he is eager to prove himself in the highly competitive environment of the MLS Next Pro.

“Am proud and humbled to be here Thanks 🙏 #NYRBII” tweeted Kasule.

Kasule’s signing is a shrewd move by Red Bulls II, who are always on the lookout for promising young talents.

With Sekagya at the helm, the team is well placed to nurture Kasule’s talent and help him realize his potential.

For Kasule, the move to the United States is a chance to start a new chapter in his career and make a name for himself in one of the most competitive football leagues in the world.
