Uganda clinched a resounding 138-run victory over Qatar in the second One-Day International (ODI) match held at the Doha Science and Technology Cricket Oval.

The Ugandan team put up a strong performance with both bat and ball, leaving their opponents with no chance of a comeback.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Uganda posted a formidable total of 236 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

The highlight of their innings was Cyrus Kakuru’s unbeaten knock of 60 runs, which helped them build a strong platform.

Kenneth Waiswa and Brian Masaba also made significant contributions with the bat, scoring 39 runs each.

In reply, the Qatar team struggled to get going from the outset and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Kamran Khan and Zaharudeen Ibrahim were the only players to put up some resistance, scoring 26 and 25 runs respectively.

However, they failed to get the much-needed support from their teammates and eventually got all out for just 98 runs in 31.5 overs.

The Ugandan bowlers, led by Kenneth Waiswa, ran through the Qatar batting line-up, with Waiswa finishing with impressive figures of 3 wickets for just 8 runs in his 5 overs.

Henry Ssenyondo also chipped in with 2 wickets for just 9 runs in his 3 overs.

The result meant that Uganda leveled the score at 1-1 in the four-match ODI series, having lost the first match by 10 runs.

The Ugandan team will be looking to take the lead when they take on Qatar in the third ODI match.

It was a dominant performance by the Ugandan team, who thoroughly outplayed their opponents in all departments of the game.

Today’s impressive form will be a major boost as they look ahead to the third match to be played tomorrow -Sunday-.
